- The shore of lake Tazawako in Akita, the deepest lake in Japan. There is a legend about a pretty girl Tatsuko who wanted to have her youth and beauty forever, so she drank some spring water as she was told. She turned into a big dragon and sank to the bottom of the lake. During the winter months, her dragon husband joins her in the lake, and warmth of their passion explain why the lake never freezes – although scientists suggest that this is rather due to its depth...
